The history of Radio ET starts on 4 september 1982. In the Netherlands are lots of pirate radiostations. Also in the region Limburg. But the piratestations only played music for the older people. For the younger ones in Limburg was no radiostation, not even the public radio. Until Radio ET started.
In the beginning the name wasn't even Radio ET, but Radio Noordzee Internationaal, named after an offshore radio of the seventies. Also there was only one dj. This changed at the end of 1982. Another dj was added and at the beginning of 1983 they decided to change the name into Radio ET. Radio ET broadcasted every friday evening and soon there were more dj's added.
Our motto:play much music with a little chat inbetween. We also had our own Top 10, combined from the TROS Top 50, The Natinale Hitparade and the Nederlandse Top 40 (all dutch). Names of shows were De Avondkost with Jo van Loo, Hitdossier with Eric Boon/Patrick Sik, de Rotzooi Maar Wat Aan Show with Wim van Kraayen, Pleasuredome with Marcel Daf, Disjotheek with Jo van Loo and Wim van Kraayen.
But at all fun comes an end. Due to several cirumstances it was very difficult to keep the broadcast regurarly and the chances to get caught were getting bigger. So we decided to stop.
Owner and dj Wim van Kraayen started in juni 1989 at a legal belgian local radio, Radio Grensland in Kinrooi. It was one of the most succesful radiostations in the region. Later Radio Grensland joined the Contact group, and the name became Radio Contact Kinrooi. Sadly this ended in the fall of 2002.
But....after a few years the broadcasting virus came up again and in june 2005 Radio Et was back. Digital on the internet.
